The Name of the Son

For a better understanding of the pronunciation of the name of the Son, it would be a good idea to read The Name of the Father if you have not already done so.

The English names Jesus and Joshua are the same name in Hebrew (Strong’s H3091).  The name comes from two words: YHWH (H3068) and yasha’ (H3467 to save), that combine to form the name YAHUSHUA which means YHWH is salvation.  Instead of the name Jesus, a translation of a translation, we want to honor His true Hebrew name, Yahushua.

Christ (G5547) was not his last name as some my think today, but is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word Mashiyach (H4899 in English Messiah) and is defined as anointed one.  As with Lord or God, Christ and Messiah or only titles that refer to the manifested power of the Holy Spirit through the promised savior.

Further support for using the names: Hsa 2:16-17, Jer 12:16-17, Deut 32:2-3, and many others.
